PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s leading mobile games, has officially broken the Guinness World Record™ for the Most Pairs Performing a Choreographed Handshake (Multiple Venues). This milestone was achieved as part of FRIEND FEST, a global event celebrating friendship, community, and shared experiences within PUBG MOBILE’s worldwide player base.
Launched on January 23rd, FRIEND FEST combines immersive in-game experiences with offline activities in multiple countries, inviting players to connect with friends both virtually and in real life. The Guinness World Record™ attempt took place on January 25th, reflecting the bonds formed among players of diverse cultures and regions. A total of 392 participants joined simultaneously across four iconic locations: Lapangan Banteng Park in Jakarta, Indonesia; Fişekhane in Istanbul, Türkiye; the Guzeria Youth Center in Cairo, Egypt; and Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Park) in Islamabad, Pakistan. Each venue represents a major civic or cultural hub, highlighting PUBG MOBILE’s engagement with local communities.
FRIEND FEST runs until February 16th, offering additional in-game experiences that promote collaboration and reinforce global player connections. Players can check in at Bonding Tree checkpoints in Erangel and Livik, triggering a pink transformation and a special stage performance. Visual effects and surprises adapt dynamically based on player participation, creating unique, memorable experiences. Players can also collect and gift Floral Bouquets to teammates, unlocking single-match items such as the Floral Veil and Sunflower Cover to personalize their in-game style.
Offline, FRIEND FEST extends beyond the game. Flower shops in Western Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia provide players opportunities to receive complimentary flowers by showcasing PUBG MOBILE-related content, merging digital celebration with real-world interaction. In Türkiye, players joined the SUPER HANDSHAKE EVENT, featuring flower-making workshops and themed photo zones, fostering creativity and self-expression.
In Paris, France, the FRIEND FEST river cruise took place on January 24th along the Seine, where players and content creators tackled interactive, gameplay-inspired challenges. Activities included head-to-head TDM competitions and Peaky Blinders-themed physical tasks, such as donning iconic caps and knocking down suspended airdrop targets. These events showcased players’ skills, teamwork, and engagement beyond virtual battlegrounds.
In Indonesia, FRIEND FEST continues until February 25th, with Experience Zones in selected cafes hosting tournaments and World of Wonder creative matches. Lapangan Banteng Park also hosts the “Pan-for-Pan” design challenge until January 31st, where participants can win the Golden Pan Prize, and the Glass Room Tournament until January 28th allows 1v1 battles in transparent arenas or spectator viewing.
PUBG MOBILE continues to prioritize safe and balanced gaming. Its global Gameplay Management system, active since 2019 in Jordan, protects players under 18 by requiring age confirmation and advisory acknowledgment before gameplay. Pop-up reminders and mandatory breaks help monitor playtime, ensuring a sustainable and secure gaming environment for minors.
FRIEND FEST in PUBG MOBILE runs through February 16th, offering players worldwide an opportunity to join interactive experiences, strengthen friendships, and celebrate the global PUBG MOBILE community. The game is available for free on App Store and Google Play Store.
