Changelabs has announced the launch of a comprehensive acceleration program designed to support product development and strengthen risk-management capabilities within Egypt’s insurance industry. The initiative brings together major players in the market — Misr Insurance, Orient Insurance, Sarmad Insurance, Aman Lake, and KAF Insurance — with a unified goal: advancing insurance solutions tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), improving distribution models, and enhancing workplace safety practices to boost operational efficiency and profitability.
Driving Innovation Across the Insurance Landscape
The launch comes at a time when Egypt’s insurance sector is undergoing rapid transformation and increased demand for agile product development. Building on global best practices, Changelabs has positioned the program to empower participating insurers with advanced tools, frameworks, and expertise that accelerate product design cycles while elevating operational readiness.
Strategic Collaboration with Global Experts
To ensure rigorous technical development, Changelabs partnered with RMC and Finprobity, two leading international advisory firms specializing in insurance. Their involvement included developing training content, guiding executive teams within participating companies, and supporting product-development processes in line with international standards.
Moreover, this collaboration helped streamline regulatory approval procedures with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), ensuring that new products enter the market efficiently. In parallel, the enhanced training modules contributed to improving underwriting practices, risk-assessment processes, and day-to-day operations across the sector.
New Insurance Products Serving the SME Ecosystem
The program has led to the launch of four new and updated insurance products, designed specifically to meet the needs of SMEs — a segment widely recognized as a critical engine of economic growth in Egypt. These product launches have already contributed to higher revenues and stronger profitability for participating insurers.
Conversely, some companies focused on advancing their risk-management frameworks, resulting in greater operational efficiency and reduced costs, demonstrating the tangible impact of the program.
Expanding Technical Capabilities Across the Sector
Through the InsurGrow initiative, 435 insurance professionals have been trained, including 75 property-risk engineers, 60 property underwriters, and 300 managers and employees. This wide-scale capacity-building effort has strengthened technical expertise and enhanced overall performance within participating companies, particularly in serving the SME market more effectively.
A New Vision for the Future of Egypt’s Insurance Industry
Kareem Samra, Managing Director of Changelabs, emphasized that collaboration between established corporations and emerging innovators is now a fundamental driver of change in traditional industries. He explained that the program is reshaping how insurers engage with SMEs, accelerating product innovation while expanding market impact.
Similarly, Ahmed Khalifa, CEO of Sarmad Insurance, highlighted the significant value of partnering with Changelabs through InsurGrow, noting that the initiative has delivered measurable improvements in product development and risk-management practices.
Strategic Alliances to Transform the Sector
The program reflects Changelabs’ new value proposition for large enterprises, built on innovation, partnership, and measurable impact. Working alongside the Egyptian Insurance Federation and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Changelabs successfully brought together leading Egyptian insurers under a single collaborative platform, enabling them to adapt, innovate, and scale in a rapidly evolving market.
Building a More Resilient and Sustainable Insurance Ecosystem
This milestone marks the beginning of a broader vision to empower large enterprises with access to innovation, unlock new market opportunities, and strengthen economic ecosystems across Egypt and the wider region. It also underscores a future where technology, partnership, and experimentation reshape the foundations of traditional industries.
