EFG Hermes, an EFG Holding company and a leading investment bank in the MENA region, announced the successful completion of its advisory role in the Accelerated Bookbuild (ABB) secondary share sale of Valu, Egypt’s leading universal financial technology platform.
The transaction involved the placement of 53.8 million shares, representing approximately 2.55% of Valu’s total share capital, in a fast-tracked offering that demonstrated strong investor participation and efficient market execution.
EFG Hermes acted as both financial advisor and bookrunner, leveraging its integrated distribution platform and execution expertise to ensure orderly market performance within a compressed timeframe. The deal underscores the resilience of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the sustained attractiveness of Egyptian capital markets to both regional and international investors.
Commenting on the transaction, Maged El Ayouti, Co-Head of Investment Banking at EFG Hermes, stated that the deal reflects the firm’s ongoing efforts to deepen liquidity in regional capital markets and its increasing role in follow-on equity transactions. He highlighted that the offering follows Valu’s successful listing on the EGX and its strong post-listing performance, which has significantly strengthened investor appetite for the company’s growth story.
He further added that the transaction is part of a broader wave of equity offerings that has helped revive investor interest in capital markets, following a period of subdued ECM activity amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
In 2025, EFG Hermes continued to reinforce its leadership position across the region, advising on 18 equity capital market transactions, 16 debt capital market transactions, and 8 mergers and acquisitions deals across key markets including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and Egypt. These milestones highlight the firm’s strategic role in connecting investors with high-growth opportunities across the MENA region.
