Google has officially launched its “Personal Intelligence” feature for Gemini users across the Arab region, aiming to deliver a more advanced and personalized AI experience through secure integration with user applications.
The feature allows users to connect apps such as Gmail, Google Photos, and others, while maintaining full control over which services are linked or disabled at any time, strengthening privacy and user control.
More Personalized AI Experience
The new feature enhances Gemini’s ability to analyze and reason across complex data sources, enabling it to retrieve specific details from emails, photos, and other content to deliver highly tailored responses.
This capability allows the AI to provide personalized recommendations, such as book suggestions or travel planning, based on user preferences and past interactions.
Privacy at the Core of the Feature
Google emphasized that privacy is central to the design of Personal Intelligence. App linking is disabled by default and must be manually activated by users, who can also deactivate it at any time.
When enabled, Gemini accesses only the necessary data to fulfill user requests, without requiring sensitive information to be shared externally, ensuring data remains within Google’s secure ecosystem.
Transparency in Data Usage
Gemini will also provide references or explanations of the data sources used in its responses whenever possible, allowing users to better understand and verify how answers are generated.
This approach enhances trust and transparency while maintaining a personalized AI experience.
Availability and Access
The Personal Intelligence feature is currently available to subscribers of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans across the Arab region, with plans to roll it out to free users in the coming weeks.
