the leading investment bank in the Middle East and North Africa and a subsidiary of EFG Holding, announced today the successful completion of its advisory services to StonePine ACE Partners on the sale of its 7% stake in Taaleem Management Services (TALM.CA), Egypt’s leading higher education platform. The transaction was executed through an Accelerated Bookbuild (ABB), marking a successful exit for the investment fund.

EFG Hermes acted as the Sole Financial Advisor and Bookrunner in the transaction, reaffirming its leadership in executing complex capital markets transactions with speed, precision, and efficiency.

Full Exit and Attractive Investment Returns

StonePine ACE Partners — a partnership between StonePine Capital Partners (UAE) and ACE & Company SA — completed a full exit from its investment in Taaleem through the ABB mechanism.
The fund achieved returns of approximately 4.8x on invested capital and 1.8x in USD terms, underscoring the strength and success of its long-term investment strategy in Egypt’s thriving education sector.

Investor Interest Reflects Egypt’s Education Growth

The transaction highlights the continued investor appetite for Egypt’s education industry, one of the most resilient and rapidly growing sectors in the country. It also signals improving liquidity and depth in Egypt’s capital markets, paving the way for further IPOs and accelerated bookbuild offerings in the near future.

EFG Hermes’ Market Expertise Enables Swift Execution

Commenting on the transaction, Majid Al-Ayoubi, Co-Head of Investment Banking at EFG Hermes, said: “We are pleased to have supported StonePine ACE Partners in their successful exit from Taaleem, a leading higher education platform in Egypt. This transaction demonstrates our ability to execute high-quality deals swiftly and efficiently for our clients, while reflecting growing investor interest in leading Egyptian companies and improving liquidity in the local capital market.”

Al-Ayoubi added that the deal was executed within a very short timeframe, thanks to EFG Hermes’ deep market expertise, extensive investor network, and integrated capital markets platform, enabling a smooth and efficient process from decision to completion.

Strengthening EFG Hermes’ Track Record in 2025

This transaction adds to EFG Hermes’ impressive track record in Egypt’s capital markets in 2025, following a series of successful listings and accelerated bookbuild transactions for companies such as valU, El Watania Printing, and MOPCO.
These achievements reflect the renewed momentum of Egypt’s capital market and reaffirm the firm’s commitment to delivering value, enhancing liquidity, and supporting investors through innovative exit and fundraising solutions.
