EDGECOM and NAFFCO have announced the signing of a strategic alliance in the field of safety systems and firefighting solutions. The partnership aims to deliver advanced technological solutions to protect large-scale data centers and critical telecommunications facilities in Egypt, ensuring the safety of lives, safeguarding investments, and maintaining service continuity according to the highest international standards.
Agreement Signed at Intersec 2026
The alliance was announced on the sidelines of Intersec 2026 in Dubai, one of the largest regional and international exhibitions specializing in security, safety, firefighting, and critical infrastructure protection. The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Mohamed ElHaddad, Chairman of EDGECOM, and Eng. Raed Qahwaji, Vice Chairman of NAFFCO Egypt, alongside Walid Abdel Hamid, General Manager of NAFFCO Egypt, and Ahmed Fawzy, Financial and Administrative Director of NAFFCO Egypt.
Integrated Solutions for Mission-Critical Facilities
The alliance will focus on delivering integrated firefighting solutions using state-of-the-art global technologies, ensuring rapid response, accurate emergency handling, reduced downtime, and uninterrupted operations for mission-critical facilities such as data centers and telecommunications networks. The partnership emphasizes customized system design for projects where operational continuity is essential.
Local Manufacturing and Technology Transfer
The alliance also highlights the importance of localizing firefighting technologies and supporting local manufacturing. While the cooperation does not involve establishing joint factories, it will focus on technical and commercial collaboration, technology transfer, and implementation, supporting Egypt’s national goals of strengthening domestic industry, increasing local content, and transferring expertise to the regional market.
EDGECOM: Egypt as a Regional Hub
Eng. Mohamed ElHaddad, Chairman of EDGECOM, stated that Egypt possesses the expertise, workforce, and infrastructure to become a leading regional hub for integrated fire safety solutions. He noted that firefighting systems are critical for modern data centers—especially those supporting AI applications—due to high equipment density and rising energy consumption, requiring precise and advanced safety solutions.
NAFFCO: Egypt as a Strategic Market
Eng. Raed Qahwaji, Vice Chairman of NAFFCO, emphasized that Egypt is a strategic priority market for the company, given its rapid expansion in telecommunications, data centers, and digital infrastructure. NAFFCO is committed to transferring cutting-edge technologies to Egypt and Africa, building an integrated safety ecosystem that meets international standards and supports sustainable development.
National and Regulatory Importance
Dr. Eng. Islam Saqr, Firefighting Systems Consultant at EDGECOM, highlighted that protecting critical facilities—particularly in telecommunications—is a national priority. He stressed that assigning such projects to leading specialized companies ensures compliance with the Egyptian Fire Protection Code, protects lives and assets, and guarantees uninterrupted operations.
Supporting Regional Growth and High-Density Projects
Ahmed Fawzy, Financial and Administrative Director at NAFFCO Egypt, noted that the partnership aligns with regional expansion strategies and national policies to localize manufacturing and preserve foreign currency. The alliance ensures protection for critical sectors, including AI-driven infrastructure, data centers, and high-energy systems.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Both companies confirmed that the alliance represents a strategic step toward creating an integrated safety and protection ecosystem for critical projects. The collaboration aims to boost investor confidence, support Egypt’s digital transformation agenda, and foster a secure and sustainable digital infrastructure. EDGECOM and NAFFCO also reaffirmed their commitment to developing specialized solutions for Egyptian and regional markets in line with advances in telecommunications, data centers, and AI technologies.
