E& Egypt, a leading provider of telecommunications and integrated technology solutions, has announced a groundbreaking global achievement with the launch of the world’s first Uranus MB² multi-beam, multi-band antenna. This milestone, developed through a strategic partnership with Huawei Egypt, strengthens the company’s leadership in transmission technologies and marks a pivotal step in redefining high-efficiency data transport capabilities.
Revolutionizing Network Capacity and Deployment
The Uranus MB² introduces a new generation of antenna technology, enabling a single antenna to connect to multiple sites simultaneously across various frequency bands. This advanced innovation tackles structural and spatial challenges on congested towers and accelerates new-network deployments by up to 50%, particularly in dense and complex environments.
These capabilities empower E& Egypt to deliver next-generation connectivity solutions, enhance network performance, and support the nation’s digital-transformation agenda with improved customer experience at the core.
Strategic Technological Leap
Amr Fathy, Chief Technology and Information Officer at E& Egypt, stated:
“This achievement introduces a new era in transmission technology, particularly in microwave systems, and contributes significantly to network evolution. The Uranus MB² antenna reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing telecom technologies and elevating customer satisfaction. Our partnership with Huawei enables us to expand our network’s capabilities and prepare confidently for the 5G era and beyond, ensuring that our customers and our nation remain at the forefront of global digital progress.”
Building on a Global Record in Wireless Transport
The launch of Uranus MB² follows the success of the Full Duplex trial, where E& Egypt—working with Huawei and under the supervision of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA)—achieved a new global record in wireless transport capacity.
Using E-Band spectrum, the test recorded a speed of 100 Gbps over a single 2 GHz channel within a 35-degree sector at the same site, a breakthrough that positions E& Egypt among the world’s leading telecom operators driving future-generation technologies.
Aligned with Egypt’s Regulatory Vision
This achievement aligns with the NTRA’s forward-looking regulatory strategy and the government’s support for advanced communication technologies. The authority emphasized that Egypt’s commitment to maximizing national spectrum resources and enabling cutting-edge technologies is a cornerstone of building a strong and inclusive digital economy.
A Future-Ready Digital Ecosystem
Together, these technological advancements affirm E& Egypt’s role as a catalyst in shaping the future of telecommunications. By integrating innovative solutions and investing in next-generation infrastructure, the company continues to accelerate digital transformation nationwide—reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional leader in advanced network capabilities.
