Visual Noise, Disguise, and PRG announced the successful execution of MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2025, combining creative, technical, and production expertise to deliver a next-level experience for festival attendees. Now in its sixth year, the festival welcomed hundreds of thousands of fans over three days, featuring performances from 250 artists including Cardi B, Post Malone, Pitbull, and Calvin Harris.
Comprehensive Visual Management Across the Site
Creative production studio Visual Noise produced visuals and managed cameras across seven stages and hundreds of informational screens throughout the festival. The company handled all interconnected content from stage performance visuals to house looks, wayfinding, and scheduling information. Trevor Burk, Principal Designer at Visual Noise, noted, “Our overall creative brief was focused on the ability to display anything anywhere, and at a moment’s notice. Luckily with Disguise, we knew we had a solution that we could rely on to do just that.”
Big Beast Stage: A Visual Overhaul
PRG redesigned the flagship Big Beast stage to showcase ultra-low-latency visuals on a massive LED canvas capable of ingesting 10 UHD 4K feeds. The stage featured a combination of 4mm, 5mm, and 8mm pixel pitch panels, allowing artists flexible layouts and richer visual content. Yvonne Donnelly Smith, Director at PRG, explained that this upgrade offered greater complexity and diversity in visuals while eliminating latency issues using the GX 3 and GX 3+ servers.
Immersive ‘Downtown’ District
A new ‘Downtown’ district acted as a multi-storey experiential hub with immersive screens and stages, connecting fans across the site and enhancing engagement. MediaPro managed playback systems for several key stages, CT oversaw sitewide LED and processing, and NEP handled the festival camera system. This infrastructure enabled real-time updates to visuals, enhancing both entertainment and informational content for attendees.
Streamlined Production and Artist Support
PRG created a Notch content library and guided artists through a previsualization workflow on the GX 3+, ensuring flawless live execution. The integration of advanced processing and content management tools saved production hours and allowed for a wider range of visuals than ever before, setting a new benchmark for multi-day live events.
Pushing the Limits of Technology
Fernando Küfer, CEO of Disguise, highlighted the scale of the project: “Having powered Soundstorm’s record-breaking Big Beast stage last year, we were proud to return and collaborate with Visual Noise, PRG, MediaPro, and our wider partner network to transform the festival experience and raise the bar for fan engagement. Events of this scale are what our Designer software and GX range were built for.”
MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2025 demonstrated how combining creativity, technical innovation, and production expertise can deliver an immersive, unforgettable festival experience, setting a new standard for fan engagement in live music events.
