Huawei North Africa concluded the 2025 Comprehensive Energy Summit, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sharm El-Sheikh, with over 300 representatives from governments, industrial clients, and business ecosystem partners worldwide. Over two days, participants explored energy sovereignty, low-carbon growth, and the integration of digital technologies and power electronics to advance the concept of comprehensive energy and accelerate the energy transition in Africa.
Building a Fully Digital Energy System
Huawei leverages its extensive R&D expertise to develop a fully digital energy system in collaboration with industry partners, covering generation, transmission, distribution, consumption, and storage. Through smart grids, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity solutions, Huawei enhances energy efficiency, boosts renewable energy usage, and ensures network stability and energy security.
Launching a Network Strengthening and Stability Initiative
During the summit, Huawei launched an initiative to strengthen and stabilize electricity networks across Africa, addressing grid stability and reliability challenges amid expanding wind and solar capacity. The initiative relies on six core grid-forming capabilities, enabling networks to integrate high shares of renewable energy while maintaining supply stability and quality, supporting a more reliable and greener energy system region-wide.
Leadership Statements on Comprehensive Energy
Philip Wang, President of Digital Energy, Huawei North Africa, stated:
“Africa is experiencing a rapid digital and smart transformation while striving to provide reliable, low-carbon energy for all. Enabling comprehensive energy will support integrated social and economic development and ensure renewable energy becomes the backbone of regional energy systems without leaving any community behind.”
He added:
“High-quality energy solutions are a serious responsibility. They must withstand harsh climates, maintain low failure rates, and minimize maintenance costs, enabling a greener and more sustainable energy transition.”
A Platform for Strategy Exchange and Sustainable Development
The summit reaffirmed its role as a leading platform for sharing best practices and accelerating the adoption of Huawei’s smart energy solutions, supporting sustainable development, business returns, and digital transformation. Guided by the philosophy “Smart Transformation, Win Together, In Africa, For Africa,” Huawei continues to support governments and sectors in expanding solar power, energy storage, microgrids, and data centers, driving the continent toward a comprehensive energy future.
