El Gouna Goes Global with Aston Villa in Landmark Sports Partnership

El Gouna Red Sea hosted an exclusive international event in collaboration with Aston Villa Football Club, celebrating the strategic partnership between both entities and bringing together senior executives, media representatives, and sporting figures in a showcase of shared ambition and global collaboration.

The event took place alongside a Premier League fixture between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur and was attended by Mohamed Amer, CEO of El Gouna; John McGinn, captain of Aston Villa; and former player and Aston Villa ambassador Ahmed El Mohamady, alongside senior representatives from both organisations. The occasion marked a key milestone in the growing relationship between the two brands, highlighting their shared commitment to sport, community engagement, and international expansion.

The partnership positions Aston Villa alongside one of the region’s most innovative lifestyle and tourism destinations, while significantly enhancing El Gouna’s global sporting visibility and international audience reach. As part of the activation, a special draw was launched offering attendees the chance to win an 8-day family trip to El Gouna, reinforcing the destination’s appeal as a world-class leisure and hospitality hub.

Mohamed Amer stated that the United Kingdom has always been an integral part of El Gouna’s identity, with a strong British community already established in the city. He emphasized that the partnership goes beyond branding, focusing instead on building meaningful cultural and human connections through sport and shared experiences.

An Aston Villa spokesperson highlighted that the collaboration brings together two organisations driven by performance, ambition, and global growth, noting that El Gouna’s positioning as a premium coastal and sporting destination makes it a natural strategic partner for the club’s international expansion.

Since January, El Gouna has been prominently featured on Aston Villa’s official training wear for first-team players and staff, further strengthening brand visibility on a global scale.

The partnership reflects El Gouna’s long-standing commitment to sport as a core pillar of its identity. The Red Sea destination has become a year-round hub for international sporting events, including golf tournaments, kite surfing competitions, triathlons, and water sports championships.

Flagship events such as the El Gouna International Squash Open — part of the PSA World Tour — and the El Gouna Half Marathon continue to attract elite athletes and thousands of participants annually, reinforcing the destination’s reputation as a global sports hotspot.

Today, El Gouna is home to more than 50,000 residents from diverse nationalities, including a significant British community, and features over 100 restaurants, 18 hotels, and a rapidly growing calendar of cultural and sporting events.
